Please rate my poems!!? Thank you..?
I have recently started to try and write poems about life situation and the world. So here is two poems. I decided to write a poem about someone who passed away and a poem about someone commiting suicide.
Please would you rate my poems, state the positive and negatives points about it. Thank you.
The 1st one goes like this:
I look into the sky
And I say goodbye
While I shed a tear
Wishing you were here.
No one knows the pain I feel
I hope one day it will heal
But for now I’m blessed to say
I know your there when I pray.
Since the day you passed away
Life just seems so grey
And I still remember your smile
Although it has been a while.
And when I’m all alone
Although I cannot phone
I still talk to you
And thats what helps me through.
I will never forget you
Our memories will always be true
And no more tears shed
Now that you are dead.
I know everything will be alright
When I see a bright star at night
And so I send my love
To you in heaven above.
The 2nd one goes like this:
You sit and think life is not fair
You sit and think noone will care
You shout so loud so everyone can hear
But noone does, now the message is clear
As you stand upon the cliff
Wondering whether it is worth the risk
Your heart starts to pump
As you get ready to jump
Know u’ll never know
If suicide was the best way to go
As you jump into the air
And say your last prayer.
Sreya- Why do you not like them?

Can someone help me correct this-?
OK I’m an awful writer. I’m in eighth grade and I have this FABULOUS teacher. I was planning on giving her a letter at the end of the year telling her how much she means to me. I’m starting it now so I can make it absolutely perfect for when I have to give it to her. I’m putting part of the letter below, and if you could make corrections (like taking out sentences that sound bad, spelling, grammar) or just adding ideas, that would be awesome! Thank you =)
Dear Ms (her name),
I really hope your summer is starting off well! I also hope that you felt that this year was a great one, and that you enjoyed our class of 2013. I really want you to know how much your teaching impacted me this year. I also want to express to you my deepest appreciation for being such an incredible and dedicated teacher. I just didn’t want to pass up an opportunity to tell a very important person, just how special they are.
I remember when we first met, I was in sixth grade. (my friend’s name) had to go into your room to get something for a project and being the very nice friend I am, I tagged along. The first thing I noticed about your room was the piano you had against the wall and I was just so excited! When I asked if I could play a song, you responded with a, “Sorry, but I’d rather you didn’t”, as you had an awful headache. (she had breast cancer at the time and got headaches often, my friend skipped two grades in english so that’s how I met her then)
Two years passed, and I’m still obsessed with piano, and you only once got an awful headache in our class, which I must say you did a very good job at acting like you felt just fine. I really enjoyed playing piano for you each week and I loved listening to your musical experiences while we sat next to each other working in the computer lab at the beginning of the year. I was creating a pamphlet about different types of pianos, you were buying boots online.
Oh, the memories!
I’m pretty sure I would have forgotten that first event if you hadn’t become LMS’s eighth grade reading and C.A. teacher. You helped make my eighth grade year extra special. Considering the fact that English is my least favorite subject, you should be very pleased that those two periods I had with you were always the highlight of my day.
You cared so much for each of your students and you got to know us so well. I know every teacher tries to learn about their students, but they usually go about this by having us fill out worksheets at the beginning of the year asking us what our favorite football teams were, or what we like to do in our spare time. You went deeper than that though; you learned about us through our conversations and how we responded to our classmates. You could always create the perfect project that would really make each of us think. You knew what concepts each individual would have trouble understanding, and the ones we would enjoy learning about.
I absolutely adored how you never failed to walk through the doors of your classroom at the beginning of each hour and be in your very best mood. It’s impossible for me to imagine you truly upset. The most important thing you’ve taught me this year is the importance of smiling. To be happy you don’t have to be an incredibly optimistic person, just putting on a smile and making the people around you happy is enough to turn a bad day to a good one. That is what really amazes me about you: how happy you are. You’re the happiest person I’ve ever known, and you make everyone around you happy, too.
I’m so glad you were my teacher. It’s obvious how much you love your job. In fact, you don’t make it seem like you’re even working. You are by far the most influential teacher I’ve ever had.
I have enjoyed my middle school experience immensely. Thank you for your time, wisdom and dedication. Even though I will miss you, all of the other teachers and my classmates over the summer, I am looking forward to going to high school. I hope our paths cross again in the future. Thank you for being you.
Send me a letter this summer and let me know how you’re doing!
(I put my adress) Sincerely, (my name)
I’m not even close to being finished with this, considering that the school year is only half over, and I already know of things I still need to add on.
